Doing Daily Activities in Your Home

We use the latest research to assess and assist you in your ability to perform daily activities, such as cooking, taking medications, moving around your home,  being able to get up and down stairs. If you have a fear of falling or are looking for an easier way to do those activities that are important to you in your home, we can assist.

Adapting Your Vision

Losing vision does not mean having to forego essential tasks or favorite activities, it means you'll need to find new ways of accomplishing them.  When particular low vision issues can't be improved with prescription lenses, medications or surgery, we can help you make the most of your vision, beginning with simple ideas and changes within you home.  Working with your eye care professional, we can also provide recommendations for more sophisticated equipment, resources and service referrals if needed.

Moving Easily in Your Home

We begin with the most cost-effective and convenient suggestions for home modifications. We focus on your safety and mobility in the home to help you do those activities important to you. We can also provide more complex home modifications as needed. Click here to view how we modified our own bathroom!

Moving Safely in Your Community

When assistance is required for help with normal tasks and activities, it can be difficult to know where to turn to seek out this kind of help.  There are resources within most communities to assist you or your family, the key is finding them.  We provide a listing of social service agencies and government program resources on our website, click here.

Caring for the Caregiver

The demands of providing care can be overwhelming, particularly when you feel you have little control over the situation.  Over time, these stressors can take a huge toll on the ones' health and burnout.   Taking care of yourself is a necessity.  We provide compassionate ideas and strategies for caregivers to address the stressors and strains of providing care.  We do this by finding resources and promoting participation for the family member who requires assistance.  The goals are to minimize the caregiver's burden and improve the quality of life for everyone involved.

It’s apparent that Blaine and Monika are professionals who knew exactly what we needed. They were right on target on getting us the essential pieces of equipment for a smooth transition into a new apartment making it wheelchair accessible. The suggestions made it easier and our son is able to live more independently.
